What I Do
Hello, I’m Heather ‘Violet’ Jones. I’ve been creating animated graphics and websites since 2000. I strive to create a unique look for each project, and I truly enjoy the collaboration process with my clients. All custom designs and premade themes are built for WordPress using the Genesis Framework by Studiopress.
I started Viva la Violette in 2008 as a stationery business, and have finally been able to focus on what I truly love- offering creative blog and web design services. I have previously designed for photographers, interior designers, event planners, news reporters, novelists, bloggers and other small business owners.
My Background
I started building websites in my late teens, and in 2005 I graduated with a BFA in Visual Arts- Computer Animation. I am continuing my education to keep up with the new web standards and responsive design techniques, and can quite often be found experimenting with some code snippet or another.
Before Viva la Violette was established, I worked as a lead artist at a casual video game company for almost three years. Although I sometimes miss having my hand in the art of video games, I appreciate where my design path has taken me. I have been designing and creating websites for twelve years, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. The best part of this journey is that I get to work from home and watch my son grow up, and for that I am truly grateful.
I also enjoy spending time with my family, playing video games, shopping, DIYing, and decorating. Some of my other favorites are: Alice in Wonderland, Guild Wars, nicknames, glitter, water slides, iced coffee, chicken fried rice, and pasta.
I hope we have the opportunity to create something together.
